World wide known as the Kipling country, Kanha is considered to be as one of the best forest of sunlight and shadows, myriad streams, rolling meadows and all the wildlife imaginable.

The Kanha National Park is one of the many fascinating natural destinations of Madhya Pradesh. It was registered as a national park in the year 1955 and was dedicated to the preservation of endangered and rare species. It is not only the home to one of beautiful beast TIGER but also to one of the world's most endangered deer - the Hardground Barasingha. It is justifiably held out as one of Project Tiger's star success stories.

The picturesque Park area, wonderful flora make it a favourite destination for nature lovers. According to the records, the Kanha National Park is also the sole inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s unforgettable classic, The Jungle Book. The romance, as depicted in the book, can still be seen in the park here. The grassy meadows, thick greens, chirping of endless number of birds and grazing of the swamp deer, sambhar and chital will definitely make you forget the world outside.

There are several excursion points that you can visit from Kanha. Most of the places are of historical importance. Some of them also make ideal base points to visit some of the popular tourist destinations of Madhya Pradesh. The city of Nagpur which is famous for its orange orchards makes an ideal day or weekend destination from Kanha.
